    • A Polycrystalline Diamond (PCD) grinding wheel is a type of grinding tool made with diamond segments for aggressive material removal, often used for removing coatings like epoxy, mastic, and paint from concrete surfaces. PCD wheels offer longer working life and faster removal speed compared to traditional diamond cup wheels, making them ideal for contractors prioritizing performance and reliability. 


    • What it is:PCD grinding wheels are constructed with diamond segments, typically made of polycrystalline diamond particles and a binder material. These segments are arranged in a specific pattern to create a highly abrasive surface for grinding. 


    • What they're used for:They are designed for aggressive removal of hard and tacky surfaces like urethane epoxy, waterproofing membrane, and various coatings.

    •  A CBN (Cubic Boron Nitride) grinding wheel is a type of abrasive wheel used for grinding, sharpening, or cutting various materials, particularly hard ferrous metals. CBN is a superabrasive material, second only to diamond in hardness, making it ideal for applications requiring strength and precision. Key characteristics and benefits of CBN grinding wheels:
    • High Hardness and Durability:CBN's high hardness and durability allow it to efficiently grind hard materials without significant wear. 
    • Thermal Stability:CBN has excellent thermal stability, resisting heat and degradation during high-temperature grinding. 
    • High Thermal Conductivity:CBN's high thermal conductivity helps dissipate heat during grinding, preventing overheating and reducing the risk of glazing. 
    • Effective for Hard Metals:CBN wheels are particularly effective for grinding hardened steels, superalloys, and other hard materials.

    5. Abrasive Grit

    The grit size refers to the size of the abrasive particles embedded in the wheel. 


    It determines the coarseness or fineness of the wheel and affects the quality of the finished surface. 


    The grit size is indicated by a number. Smaller numbers indicate a coarser grit, while larger numbers indicate a finer grit. 

    6. Concentration

    The concentration refers to the amount of abrasive particles present in the wheel's bond. 


    It is denoted by a percentage, where higher concentration indicates more abrasive particles, resulting in increased cutting efficiency and longer wheel life. Typical concentration levels range from 25% to 125%.
